i don’t typically hate people. I’m just hugely disappointed in her. I used to love her books, and I have to admit I can’t help but love them still, but I’ve found out about all the shit she’s been pulling off all this time and im :))))

• she basically plagiarized half of her whole series (more on that in this post)
  
• she almost got a girl kicked out of university just bc she’s petty 
  
• she manipulates fans? a girl posted her opinion on the books (it was just an article about plagiarism she shared) // cc replied that it made her cry and her stans attacked the girl // it ended up with the girl in a mess of tears and saying that she deserved the hate she’s getting
  
• god forbid somebody to express negative opinions on her books. if you’re unlucky enough to be picked as her target, she’ll play victim and her fans will drag you to the hell and back
• she’s!!! SO!!! spiteful!!! it’s unbelievable how petty and spiteful and bitter she can be. have you seen the way she treats the tv show adaptation of her books?
  
• basically, she tweets about one of her characters being asexual+aromantic. obviously, this has a huge response from the ace/aro community because let’s be honest their representation in media is literally non-existent. then she takes it back saying it’s just a headcanon :) everyone can have headcanons :) you’re the literal author???? what you say is canon how are you headcanoning your own characters??? it was just a stupid excuse because she for some reason changed her mind about the character (Rafael Santiago) being ace, aro.

• her books have offensive religious jokes which is excused with the fact that she’s jewish herself so she can joke about it
• i will not talk about how she goes around announcing that Malec is super important to her!!!! she loves malec so much!!!! that’s probably why Alec was supposed to die in the first book in her original drafts. and that’s why she sidelined them so bad (she literally sent them away on a vacation for half a book and only mentioned like twice). then, alec’s biphobic reaction when he finds out about Magnus’s sexuality??? bye.
  
• slut shames her own characters. yeah, she’s that cool.
• did i mention how horrible she is to the show? if you think i’m exaggerating, i assure you im not. one example out of many: before we knew that there was going to be an arranged marriage between Alec and Lydia, cc got asked “what would you never make a part of the shadow world?” guess what she replied with? arranged marriage. and we didn’t even know it’s shade back then. like, it’s such childish, bitter, obvious shade, what was she even thinking about, there’s an arranged marriage in her books (tmi). Celine and Stephen. she literally played herself it’s pathetic
• i dunno. she just sucks.
