adam asked gansey how gansey knows he’s in love. in canon. like twenty minutes after kissing ronan for the first time. and then he spent the night making out with ronan. and the entire novel up to that point consistently had ronan and adam reference their relationship and feelings for each other. and at the end adam drives ronan’s car to see his parents where his dad refers to ronan as adam’s boyfriend. those things are canon
